Mondays with Mom

What makes my feet throb, my back ache and gets my adrenaline pumping? Sestra putting on a fashion show for a bridal expo! Yesterday, Sestra’s dresses were showcased in the Richmond Bridal Show. Several weeks of planning go into this event. The girls spend hours discussing which dresses are going to be shown. Of course, everyone has her favorites and several games of musical dresses are played before the final choices are made. Then, on Saturday evening after the store closes the troops gather. After participating in several shows, we all know our specific jobs and work together like a well oiled machine. After everything is packed and loaded, we head off to our favorite Mexican restaurant and the discussion about the show continues. What is everyone wearing (the show is a good excuse for a new outfit), what time to depart for show (as late as possible, some of us are not morning people:).) Then, off to bed to dream about wedding dresses and wake up worrying if we packed the veils and the safety pins. Well, the day has arrived and the girls are pumped. Me? Well, I have some of the same anxiety that I always had when I sent them off on the first day of school. I hope everything goes well for them, hope they didn’t forget anything and I hope they make friends. Sounds like a mom, huh. Well, all my worries were for nothing. The show went great, they didn't forget anything, and hopefully they will make some new bridal friends. It was a good day and girls, I’m proud of you.
